    Regina Burchett Free Demo

    Skies, Clouds and Storms

    Feb. 23, 2019, 10:00 am -12:00 pm

Youth Hall, Cornwell Center, Charlotte, NC

Morning Program Demo: In my presentation, we discuss how to incorporate dramatic and realistic clouds into landscape paintings and also how to start creating abstract cloud paintings. During the demonstration, I paint portions of several different types of clouds to show how to create a believable sky by studying the light and using soft edges to “set” the clouds. In addition, we review how to maximize the use of cloud photos to increase the interest of paintings.

    Marilyn Dwyer Free Demo

    Focus on Drawing

    April 6, 2019, 10:00 am -12:00 pm

Youth Hall, Cornwell Center, Charlotte, NC

" Six years ago, I made a conscious effort to return to the fine arts after 35 years in graphic design. I began rediscovering my drawing skills, mainly using charcoal. Then I discovered Dawn Emerson and how she adds pastel to charcoal, which led me to PPS. Through workshops and the generous support of PPS artists, I am learning to use color. But because drawing is my strongpoint, I naturally rely on drawing as the starting point in my work."

Morning Demo: Marilyn will demonstrate her approach to drawing, review the core elements and principles of art and share her “checklist” she uses before beginning to paint.

If you are staying for the afternoon workshop, please bring a bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided.
